Indigenous Totems

alaska_f76t4512Because many things have a spirit and come from the Creator/Creatrix as metaphors of reality and the Cosmos the Indigenous people of the Earth saw and related to ‘things’ with deeper meaning. Indigenous aboriginals from around the globe believed that animals, the elements, and dreams were alive with symbolism and messages and a sacred form of communication which helped to guide and form the past, present, and future. Symbolism was an expression of the soul that everything was one with the Creator, the Gods, Man, the hidden realms, the heavens, the Plant kingdom, and Animal kingdoms and so on. Seeing and experiencing the outer and inner world in this sacred way allowed one a kind of divine guidance recognized and used upon one’s path and journey. In this way, you are alone but always in a synchronicity with the all of the creation in their many forms and faces. The definition of God or Goddess was seen in all things, everywhere and connected to the many realms of waking, sleeping, doing or non-doing.

930f4d85efaf07d09a35ea1ccba4bef3Since ancient times and antiquity, the concept of Animism was mastered and used as a way of higher consciousness to bring understanding and balance to the Earthly physical realm. Ancient Egyptians (Kemetic) art and ‘theology’ are founded upon this sacred perspective through the Ntchr (Ntr) or Netcheru meaning Deities of Nature. They believed that cosmic man must master the animal spirit or kingdom while on Earth, hence his/her lower self or lower (primal) nature. This was understood that the lower nature consisted of the lower chakras or energy centers that must be cleared, mastered,  and raised through the higher chakras to obtain Self Mastery, the GodSelf and/or true “enlightenment” or what we call “Christ Consciousness” in modern terms. They even mapped these earthly animal totems to the skies or heavens known as astrology and cosmology, and mastered the axiom “As Above, So Below” mathematically mapped through geomancy and sacred temples, pyramids and architecture. Whatever was below, on earth was above in the heavens, and cosmos. Nothing was separate or fragmented; instead, the Self-was seen in its highest form as one whole unit of the Universe connected to everything and returning to the Nothing or Void, the Cosmic Womb (Visica Pices).

Indigenous people span the entire globe. Ancient aboriginal people (clans) are on the continent of the Americas (North, Central, South), the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, India,  including Russia, Alaska, Iceland and Greenland and northern Europe. The Indigenous of South and North Americas are known for their wisdom of Animal Totems symbology which were passed through sacred knowledge from their African pygmy (twa) and other African clan ancestors. The jaguar was known for representing a Jaguar priest, medicine man or woman, or warrior endowing one with powerful healing, justice and warrior energies, of the jaguar. Native Americans saw the eagle as a divine messenger of the spirit (heaven) and earthly realms. The eagle used by the freemason societies of early America is endowed with metaphysical and magical symbolism and is used by Europeans Freemans of the United States on the dollar bill, flags, and the architecture of buildings, institutes, schools, and churches.

Totem-Pole-Bodypainting-640x409Animal Totems are used as spiritual tools and keys to higher realms or dimensions of living and being one with the All (Creator/Creatrix). Take the time to pay attention to dreams and visions and daydreams. Pay attention to what animals frequently come into your field of vision. There is a much deeper meaning to their presence; a warning, an invitation to the deeper understanding of what is happening or needs to happen in your life. You can learn to read the signs and remain aware of synchronicities as sacred communication.

Travel – Smithsonian Gems Exhibit – Ancestor Montage

Ria Sweetraw | NaturalSelfGoddess ™♥ Blog travels to Washington, DC to visit the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Annenberg Hall of Geology, Gems, & Minerals. In awe of the massive gemstones and minerals from around the globe, particularly the amount of stones from Brazil (Brasil), Mexico and South America, this montage pays hommage to those Ancestors. The autochthonous tribes of the Ancient MesoAmerican Indigenous cultures and ancient Mayan Inca Aztec tribes in Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Panama whose origins and bones are buried deep within the land of those regions. Feeling compelled to not only remember but to share their memories with everyone. I am another You! xo ~ Ria ( Daria)

Finding Nature! Road Trip Amicalola Falls

In  June, I took an impromptu road trip through the state of Georgia. Unlike Virginia, I knew very little of the back roads, paths, rivers, creeks, state parks and landscapes Georgia has to offer. And i was in “need” of some form of Nature relief so I packed my trunk with what was initially a ‘day trip’ turned into a 3 day adventure from Augusta to the mountains of Amicalola Falls to the coastal marshes of Tybee Beach Savannah Georgia. I wanted to search the waters of Georgia and to feel out this land and its historical past. The past of my father’s ancestors and find more connection.

I was in my last week of my fitness program and surging full steam ahead.  Emotionally I was feeling drained from the mundane and needed a “Soul+filled” experience centered around Nature.  As a child, nature had always shared with me a glimpse into a kind of symbiosis – a deep healing thankful breath and whisper at the trunk of trees,  a hug or thankful smile I might offer for simply being in its presence,  extreme gratitude and love for each variety of species my eyes would discover.  Nature had taught me to meditate when I was just eight years old turning inward from a very highly emotional dysfunctional family environment I learned that inward breathing not only slowed my nervous system but awakened me to the wondrous world around me. Nature was my ally, teacher and church. And throughout my adult years, I would always find my way back to her /him when the modern world whirled in confusion and left me feeling anything but centered in peace.  So I put on my workout gear, packed my car, filled my gas tank and set out for the unknown.  A mini road trip into the mountains of Georgia was calling me and off I went.  GPS set for Amicalola Falls through Dawsonville, through Etowah country,  through Dahlonega country, in the Chattahoochee National Forest, through Cherokee Native American land. And with all the markers and talk of the Appalachian Trail I instinctively knew without having to google or search an internet keyword that some historical atrocities had taken place where I now stood.

I was later reminded I was in Cherokee and Yamasee indigenous land. Ive always been a ‘special’ child with ‘special’ vision you can call it bit psychic with much empath intuitive gifts.  As  a child I could tell you insights into the future, see events of past, present and future but as an adult these gifts became more like a burden and I closed them off to mere feelings and visions rather than visits or direct talk with the dead or other shamanic abilities. Perhaps this was in my own folly at not truly recognizing my own unique gifts and empowerment. Or that such “gifts” could in fact be used  to serve humanity and help others but as I was drawn into the norms of working society ideas of shamanism closed to day to day survival for my family.  And an age old tradition was closed off (for a time) by smaller bursts of these mystical ‘insights’ and flashes of ‘truth’ and visions and dreams that connected me to Indigenous tribes, communities and healers who in the Dream World showed me miraculous secrets of the world we choose to be blind to in our day to day mundane tasks.  But here I was being called by “spirit” once again to a place unknown to me in this lifetime to AmicalolaTumbling Waters” as the Cherokee called it. Where I later learned was also part of the Trail of Tears.  Dahlonega  the “Gold Rush” town in North Georgia was in fact a starting point for this push off, out and onward toward Oklahoma  where over 20,000 Chicksaw, Creek, Cherokee, Seminole, Choctaw, Muskogee and other tribes and Black and Brown people of color walked and perished between 1830 and 1850.

What I felt and saw were brown and black people (ancestors) traveling the most rugged terrain and extremes during very difficult oppressive times in America. These Native Americans and Free Blacks and escaped Slaves who were forced to leave their homelands for the unknown—those who made it and those who died along the way! In some ways, I  could feel their agony and others their resilience.  The deep lines of Americas historical extremes were strong in that national park once marked as  indigenous sacred land in a very different time. When I looked over the man made railing it was so steep that anything that would mistakenly trip would surely fall feets to its death. Only in movies like Indiana Jones or Romancing the Stone had I ever seen any type of terrain like this almost an amazonian type of depth with less dense forestry. Even in my native Guadeloupe rain forests and Soufrière mountains, I hadn’t (to date) come across land as steep in these Amicalola mountains 729-foot falls of the 829 – acre lands.   I was both enchanted and horrified simultaneously.

I kept saying silently ‘this land is sacred’ looking up at the healing waters and wanting (naturally) to enter these waters to cleanse or even baptize my over burdened spirit. The duality of hatred of skin, race and culture carried upon the backs of these Colored Trail of Tears were embraced with a kind of unconditional ever-flowing love of Mother Earth and all her children flourishing upon the very deaths of those warriors, victims and survivors. As I witnessed both tragedy of the past and beauty of the present butterflies came to play and dance while Bees extracted nectar from blossomed flowers — each partaking in the rhythmic exchange of life! Such immense beauty exuding beyond the historical darkness.  And what struck me most were these seemingly opposing forces melded together in the harmonic essence within the forest. What was once tragedy was blissfully flourishing. And in this pristine well groomed well guarded space I realized and saw this for myself with my own eyes, heart and soul.

It was a hot day when I arrived in the Falls and miles leading up to the park were confederate flags hanging from homes and shops that not only caught my attention but spooked me into an uneasy “i better get out of here” type of vibe.  Although the park had lodging, I felt vulnerable and almost like prey in territory  I was unfamiliar.  It saddened me and I inwardly smirked that this kind of energy was so prevalent in such a  once sacred site. Within my being I knew that Native and Indigenous peoples came to this Falls for healing and sacred ceremony where steep mountains celebrated with the mysteries of the waters and birthed a kind of life and rejuvenation- this was Healing waters that I needed to taste, to immerse my spirit, my body to heal my mind, my body and soul and yet there were signs and gates everywhere telling us we could not enter that in a way we were not truly welcome.  And  it seemed more like these  “nature” energies were being held hostage then being preserved or even free.  It saddened me that man was not able to self-govern himself or his behavior from destroying this land and being at peace or one with it and had to have such drastic measures to ensure its ecological survival. But surely if he could not value human life how could this kind of mind and spirit value plant life or water life or air life? When truly they and we were (are) all one web of life. It saddened me that I didnt feel welcome on land that was once maintained and guarded by other brown and dark people who looked like me and members of my family.  This is the legacy that is kept alive in America for which it is paying for today. Instead of true healing and holding shame and resolve for its brutal past, the entitlement of such savagery is upheld as a tradition of pride and place in society among the diverse people of this land and country. In a way this is a perfect July 4 article raising questions to past present and the future of where our country is heading. There are the young and so many others  who wish for this country to move forward and beyond the mental, political, physical, socio-economic, racial hatred of the past and yet the underlying legacy of this indebted slavery upon which this country was founded pops up all over the place all the time reminding you sometimes subliminally but too often in your face front and center to the very core and heart of your being. It is like the dark satan we were brainwashed into believing to be flaming his pit of fire in the depths of hellish moments of time when the real demonic force is truly everything and anything that opposes life, love, liberty and the pursuit of  happiness, growth of  responsible technology, trees and the equilibrium of bees!

Forbidden. June 2016. Photo. Daria Takharu.

Forbidden. (Although park signs stated no one was allowed off the trail. I had the urge to sit near the base of the waterfall, find a spot and just put my feet in the water and chill. Much like I had done for years in parks like Rock Creek Park (Washington, DC) and Oak Canyon (Shenandoah, Virginia). Do what I came there to do which was ‘meditate’ and ‘heal thy self’ . I was approached by many people of many races and all I could do was smile in thanks and deep gratitude.) June 2016. Photo. Daria Takharu.

In my love of Nature and love of Man, I truly pray (affirm) that we one day come together in respect for our survival, equality and equilibrium in this very delicate web of balance of our ecological systems, monetary systems, health and mental body systems, technology and spiritual systems. It may not be in my life time but I am hopeful that these cycles the ancients spoke and wrote of will come to pass and this new age will lift the debts and burdens of our ignorant past into an true age of enlightenment in which the all thrives in more harmonic states of being.

In Love, In Light, In Courage, In Freedom! (happy 4th of July) 😉

Question to Mr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Why Don’t You Know Your REAL History?!!

Question to Mr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

(after watching a few episodes of his show, Finding Your Roots,
with Bill Hader and Keenen Ivory Wayans, Mr. Gates, You Pissed Me Off!)

Race Rant #1: No black people are not all descendant of slaves Mr. Henry Louis Gates let us remember the Moors in Europe hence Queen Charlotte and De Medici of Rome, why this man exhausts me with his “I’m helping you reveal your DNA Ancestry! Oh you have African in your DNA –ohh that was some slave late night going on?” chuckling.

Wow Mr. Gates,  you honestly telling me you did not do ANY real history training up at Harvard?

moor_painting 1600s(smh)

Why don’t you know of the Mons, the Xia, the Naga, the Funan, the Mani, the Olmecs,  to name a few Dr. Gates?

Okay so let’s just skip the Moors who birthed the Renaissance prior to their expulsion from Granada (1492) and let us take a look to  South East Asia ( 1500 – 1000 AD).  Simply take a tour to Angkor Wat Khmer (Land of Khm) let us look at the etymology of the word “Khm” and its many derivatives “Khem” “Kham” Kem”  as in “Khemit” “Kemet”  derived from “KMT” in what modern man calls the same region Egypt.  The phonetic value of Km has no less than 24 terms the primary meaning “Black” while “KM.T” was known as the “land of the Blacks”.

In  fact,  it is noted by many scholars that the name “Angkor” it self is derived from
“Ankh – Hor” or “Ankh-Horus”  (Life Force of Heru) Horus or Heru being the Kemetic God of Osiris (Asr) and Isis (Ast) of its sister city Egypt.

Obessed_with_AsAbove_SoBelowDuring this time, the Mayan and  many Ancient Americas pyramids were also constructed and erected. In fact these temple sculptures are perfectly mathematically ‘aligned’ to temples all across the planet, including Angkor Wat, Teotihuacán (Pyramid of the Sun),  Chichén Itzá,  Giza,  Mounds in Ohio, Machu Pichu,  Thames, and so many more from Europe throughout the Americas (South and North), Asia, and Africa,  along ley-lines, meridians,  and vortexes around the world.

I just wish the new Google filters allowed me to find the rich information and data I was able to find back in 1999 and in the early 2000s! Nonetheless, this will be a project for me when I visit or return to the DMV (Washington, DC, Virginia, Maryland area) and renew my Library of Congress, Main Room, Researchers Library Card.  😉

But okay back to Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom, both in  Cambodia, Mr. Gates check out ancient China, Vietnam, Korea, Thailand and Nepal what do they all have in common? The Black Buddha! This is NOT an Ego fest it an illustration of just some historical facts and data that are already and readily available despite the decades of attempts to distort, hide, and deface the truth of our global history.

Surprise Mr. Gates! There is evidence of Black people who did NOT descend from the anals of the Atlantic Slave Trade but there is more on (pun intended) documented evidence that these Blacks in Asia were  of Black Royalty  and celebrated and venerated as Spiritual  Gods (the Blue-Black Blooded Ancient Ones)  who founded Buddhism, Confuciusism, established the royalty in Asia, who taught the healing sciences, alchemy and chemistry, architecture, and mathematics, agriculture and even Martial Arts just to name a few.

Even ancient India had Mohenjo Daro,  Harappa, Mehrgarh, Lothal and of those cities nations, the Naga supernatural “draco/dragon” tribes of Lanka (Sri Lanka) (among many others noted in the Ramayana and Mahabharata ) where Krishna (the Blue-Black One) originated from ancient India’s Indus Khush, these regions were noted as being identical to the Ethiopian aka “Egyptian” Napata  Kushites in Africa!

In fact, Krishna of the Hindu, Rig Veda was identical to the God Amen (Amon-Ra/Amen-Ra) of Ancient Egypt (Kemet/KMT) in Thebes. To my amusement Keenan Ivory Wayans reply was laughter with a “I’m a Black Chinese!” Uhh perhaps ‘he’ did further his History research Mr. Gates cause you sure as hell have not!

Shang or Chiang dynasty, Ancient China, 1500-1100 BC, Jade Sculptures of Royalty. The Shang were also called Nakhi, which literally means “Black” (Na) and “Man” (khi).

This is just but a tip of an iceberg waiting in plain site to avalanche the whole of our dummed-down, hum-drum inaccurate history that you so easily perpetuate as fact Mr Gates, we also have temples and ruins that bare jewels of mystic mathematical and astronomical questions and answers screaming to all mankind that ‘WE WERE HERE, WE ARE STILL HERE, and we were the  Masters and Genius of Thought and Spiritual application using stars, sciences, and buried mysteries that have long been purposefully forgotten and secretly practiced by the powerful elite.

Speaking of the Power Elite, I lived directly across the street from the Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge in Washington, DC without even knowing what it meant until some 15 years later! On a side note, Washington, DC is a mathematical sacred geometric little Egypt on the Potomac and  was designed by or rather completed by (no ‘diss’ Pierre Charles L’enfant) who by the way conveniently worked closely with Banneker during the “design” phase whom L’enfant has been credited for designing.  Did I not mention Graham Bell has been quietly discredited for inventing the telephone? It was found out that he paid someone in the patent department to steal the light bulb patent initially invented by Antonio Meucci ! (Im just sayin’)

Queen Charlotte

Queen Charlotte
Mulatto Mixed Ancestry Royalty of England. Charlotte, original name Charlotte Sophia of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (born May 19, 1744—died November 17, 1818), queen consort of George III of England. Queen Charlotte, wife of the English King George III (1738-1820), was directly descended from Margarita de Castro y Sousa, a black branch of the Portuguese Royal House. Finally, it should be noted that the Royal Household itself, at the time of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation, referred to both her Asian and African bloodlines in an apologia it published defending her position as head of the Commonwealth.

He was no different than his predecessors (Ancestors) who designed and constructed Cordova!

Benjamin Banneker and Major Andrew Ellicott must both be credited with saving the capital. Banneker, an African-American mathematician and astronomer, had been engaged by Ellicott to help survey the federal territory during the time Ellicott was working closely with L’Enfant. Banneker was able to reproduce the complete layout – streets, parks, major buildings. Alessandro de’ Medici (July 22, 1510 – January 6, 1537) called “il Moro” (“the Moor”), Duke of Penne and also Duke of Florence (from 1532), was ruler of Florence from 1530 until 1537.

Let me point out that during the constructing of both land and law of the United States in the 1700s, the so called founding fathers, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson,  to name a few slave and land owners housed and befriended FREE BLACK AFRICANS like Banneker and  Senator John Hanson (First Black President of the U.S. Continental Congress, 1781)  who  were both noted as being from Mali, Iberia and other FREE African nations AND of African Royal Blood families. Hence, during the preset of the American Atlantic Slave Trade these gentlemen and others whom history fails to mention were actually not enslaved along side the thousands or millions of misfortune slaves of the triad holocaust.

Why were they, unlike their contemporary captives who were sold and documented like chattel on the steps of the  Capitol Hill and New York’s Wall Street,  permitted t be separate, different and allowed the Rights denied by others of the same exact black skin that they too possessed? Because these men and many other unnamed historically forgotten Black men were among a social elite group of Free, African Royals,  let’s suppose, a ‘Moor’ ( meaning ‘Black’)  class who did read, write, add and subtract, legally own property, hold early public political offices, owned plantations, acres of American land, even purchase their own slaves!

These free men were integral parts to the formation of what we now consider early America from land architecture to political policy ! Before racism became the tool to control the global economics of and spiritual bodies (literally) of humanity. Some two thousand years after the expulsion of Moors in Spain’s Andalusia in the late 15th century. Free Black Men AND Women and their descendants lived freely in all parts of Europe (711 AD to 1491)!

So Mr. Gates why do insist of playing the cane-toting bafoon elder of our global history? (smh in sadness and disgust) exhale. [end of rant]

Okay.. Leo Full Moon surely I can let go of these ‘tiny’ slaps of injustice, it’s just the build up piled up like dog shit in a runners park after while the air of “entitlement” just gets outrageous and must be corrected for the balance of ALL along the path. (smile) Until then I will continue my mission of food justice, organic equality and the love train. (wink)

I guess I will be  THANKFUL for You Mr Gates, Had you been a truly responsible elder in your position of power and authority I would have not responded so passionately and would not have spent my day gathering this quick research of facts and gorgeous Ancestral memory. It only reminded me of where I truly come from Cosmic Royalty, DNA that has Blue Black Royal Blood, DNA of Masters of Architecture, Mathematics, Astronomy, Maritime and Navigation, Irrigation and Agriculture, City Builders and Temple Spiritual Priests and Priestess,  Ancestors who traversed 360 of this beautiful planet from West, to East, North and South, from the pole shifts of what has been buried beneath the ice and sea levels, from the core of  planet’s center in Africa. Africans are the OLDEST so called race on this planet and have been here forever!

I will simply say “Thank You Mr. Gates! We know who we are and where we must go to truly be free of all Illusion.”

Uplift, Purify, Tone! Ancient Cedarwood Aromatherapy

IMG_7652-1.JPGCleanse, Empower and Relieve Muscles Aches from a Gruesome Workout!

Not only do Essential Oils feel good on the skin, they can be used potently in Aromatherapy and inhaled through the nasal passages. Aromatherapy is an ancient healing modality practiced in Antiquity such as Egypt, Africa, India, Tibet, the Mediterranean and throughout the Tribal Regions of North America. Cedar was considered by the Sumerians to be the symbol of “Power,” “Greatness,” and “Immortality.”

Cedar Wood Essential Oil

Goddesses like Bast, Isis (Ast), Sekhmet, Hetheru and Aphrodite  were known for their magical and healing use of aromatic scents to heal the body, mind and spirit. These Goddesses were the Queens of Nurture and  in tune with the essence and elements of Nature. They healed the sick, heard flowers bloom,  and brought about births and the wailing back to life and memory. Using their divine feminine intuition, and shaman like powers they were revered, celebrated, honored and respected as the embodiment of womanhood and deity. There is much we can learn from these world culture stories and myth. Their energies and boons (spiritual gifts) remain in our DNA and in the very fabric of this Earth and cosmos.

The use of oils and perfumes directly absorbed through the blood stream is a powerfully conscious way to heal, rejuvenate, maintain and strengthen the body’s immunity, mental clarity and sensuality and overall natural organic balance. By using a simple diffuser the essential oil can burn into a vapor by tea light candle in a ceramic sculpture. This method fills the room beautifully with any scent or combination you choose.

For the past few days, late nights especially I have blended Cedarwood EO with Tea Tree EO (my senses LOVE this Astringent) and a dash of Cinnamon EO!! ❤️
Note: Cinnamon Essential oil is powerful and can burn the skin! So add just a drop if mixing with other oils and carrier oils. I use Cinnamon mostly for household cleaning and spiritual clearing in prayer and rituals. I may also add Jasmine or Ylang Ylang to bring a lightness or floral air to my body and environment.

Cedarwood has been my favorite essential oil for over 20 years! It’s  safe and great for the skin, hair, in a spray bottle, or diffuser. It was known for its spiritual uses by Tibetan Monks in the Himalayas. It has a woodsy aroma that I add Jasmine oil floral scent. It can be used as an incense, perfume and massage oil.

Day 183

600px-US_77.svgOn my walk today I feel a bit under the weather. Being “natural” is transforming in ways I’ve never felt before in one all encompassing experience. There are (many) days I don’t feel very sexy, I feel rough or not my usual self. With long hair, its so easy to feel sexy. Short hair, short natural hair is a badge of self confidence in the making. If I hardly wore makeup prior to my BC (big chop), I’m wearing even less now in this ‘natural’ vegan,”working-on-being” sustainable space. Gotta wake up earlier, I promise myself. I feel off center.
A moving truck pulls up and the most beautiful brown skinned man asks me if I know where “Route 77” is? Instantly,  I’m mesmerized by his soothing eyes, deep dark chocolate skin, and perfectly pinned back dark brown locs and respond “no” apologetically.” There is a pause. I had no idea route 77 existed. I  smirk then continue up the hill on the journey.

In spite of my double-double Watercress Apple green juice, I feel exhausted up those hills. I feel small, lighter.  I’ve felt that way when I was vegan many years ago which is why I included more cooked foods and then eggs. But then I didnt have ‘breakfast’ so I will do it the  right way tomorrow. On my walk/run the Sun is  hiding by a white blanket of blue grey. I find myself easily distracted by the birds and different mushrooms I photograph; the pine cones still hanging in trees in formation, the different trees I wondered their names. If their bark showed healthiness or sickness and I wondered about those who could read these signs of Nature. I longed for their wisdom and presence. Most of all I longed to know how to truly live with Nature.

IMG_9262_2beeonclover-riasweetrawI remembered when I was a child and how lost I’d find myself in the woods and play for hours upon hours. Lying on my back in a field somewhere on a hill, eating clovers and honeysuckle, playing guess with the clouds above. Right now, apart of me feels child-like wanting to go deep into the forest and explore! My hair is unwrapped and  free. I am wearing only blue eyeliner on my lower eye, no lipstick, no makeup! I feel naked and honestly a bit awkward in this new skin. Almost no hair, no makeup, no flashy clothes, just me getting Sun, working out my fitness, absorbing the Nature around me. It’s almost frightening yet freeing with a lot of feeling new and raw.

The hills are trying and I noticed my panting and uneasiness followed by a soothing calm that seemed to last ‘forever.’ This feeling is infinite and I hold on to it and let it wash over me. It cleanses me and feels amazing. I then wished I had started this NaturalSelfGoddess 20 years ago, how beneficial and how healing this all would have been- wishing my accumulated wisdom would have magically carried me back into the future of my past. How empowered I would be then and now, I thought!

On the close of my walk there is a long stretch of ‘grass’ I love to cross avoiding the sidewalk. I imagine cattle grazing upon the clover, the birds following behind. I imagine myself on a small farm of my own. There is a small blue bird perching upon a tree nearby not a blue jay- the other kind with the brownish, orange chest, tiny in stature but fast. As I get closer it moves from tree to tree just beyond my reach when i think I’m good for a photo. I do my best to capture it on film, but it seems to lead me to a small circular grass area with lots of clover. I look down and there is a Bee. I smile! And thank this beautiful blue creature for allowing me a glimpse of this divine Bee. I give thanks as I approach the store all smiles outside and inside.

When I get inside the store to get my ‘gotta have it’ coconut. I am followed by a community of eyes meeting me at each aisle. In my ignorance, I think how can wearing no makeup, no lipstick be beautiful or attractive? Maybe the double-double shots of  Watercress Apple  juice is working after all, I finally give in. This must be what beauty from the inside out truly means.  Ase’ Oshun –  I am learning!

When I read the meaning of the bluebird I laughed soo hard. Because Yes, I did wander about like my inner child! The longing to be in a space of  more happiness and more balance of spirit, body, soul! Nature is ALWAYS communicating with us, to us, at us! May I be “More” aware to know, see, feel, all that She has to express. (big kitty smile) (july 2, 2015)

In Nurturing Patience,

Native American Totem of the Blue Bird (Medicine)

blubird_whatabirdDOTcomModesty, Happiness

Bluebird is about your happiness within and without. He signifies a contentment and fulfillment that is happening or is about to happen. Bluebird shows how to find those joyful gems in everyday life with an appreciation anew. He teaches a balance of work and play and reminds us to reinstate the fun back into life. Listen to the song of Bluebird in order to sing your own of joy with an awakened confidence and internal peace. It is time to look for chances to touch joy in your life. Dance and sing with every step, Bluebird will show you the way. (source.

Bluebird is a reminder that you are born to happiness and fulfillment,
but you can sometimes get so wrapped up in everyday things,
that happiness seems rare.
Bluebird reminds you to take time to enjoy yourself.

Bluebird is associated with the throat chakra and creative expression.

Bluebird is symbolic of the need to work hard and play hard.
Be careful of shouldering too much responsibility.

Bluebirds, and their totem people, are gentle and unaggressive.
They do not push or bully, but they are very scrappy if threatened.

A Bluebird person should have their front door facing south,
the door for awakening their inner child.

BlueBird Songs and Art

Radmilla Cody, a former Miss Navajo Nation and a Grammy-nominated singer.

I found a picture  while searching for Blue Bird songs and Art of this singer and Navajo woman just now in a google search. I was amazed because she looks like many people in my family! My Aunt Tiye a singer, musician, playwright and recent graduate from Columbia University (NYC). She locked her long brown hair  but the eyes are the same! She looks like my half sister whose father is mixed with Cherokee from the Carolinas. She looks like my daughter Kaya in the eyes, hair and complexion.  Then there are my great aunts from the island of Guadeloupe, Terre de Bass. I have great aunts who look like me,  petite kinky short hair with reddish brown skin, and those who look like this woman,  ‘Hawaiian’ complexion with  long, black, curly and thick straight hair. When my daughter was born, I had a vision of my great, great grandmother whom I had never met whos hair was long past her waist near the floor who stood by a thin bronze-skinned brown man in a room filled with Ancestors. When I mentioned her to my mother she said that was what our family in the islands had said Great Great Grandmother Emily looked like and she had a brother she was very close to growing up. There were rumors that I haven’t investigated yet, that she was not originally from the island but Brasil other rumors said she was from Africa and of course a princess in captivity. Our family is said to have strong native Indian blood but I haven’t done enough research to find out the who and where!  I’ve only had dreams and visions. It would be nice to finally know.

I’ve never heard of Radmilla Cody so this is a treat and she is such a beauty. I cant wait to hear her music!

Can Exercise Make You more Spiritual? Lucid Journeys+Exercise

“To love Nature is to love your Real Self, for Nature itself is an expression of the essence of what you are.” We do not see what is, we see what we are. In other words, what is within us determines our outlook.

Lucid, Yes Lucid Dreaming Journeys!

62598_463501607059230_1635583885_nLast night, after days of affirming I finally had a breakthrough!  Well to be honest, my dreams have been pretty powerful lately. I ask and the answers come, only I have to remain aware enough to see what is being shown to me.

Last night was such an occurrence! Somehow, I was thrown into various scenarios, terrains, tunnels, depths of waters, deep woods, the open skies and in this ‘dream’ state I was able to transform myself and control not only what happened in the dream but alter the dream (scenario) at will and transform who I could become within the journey. I had many powers, and allies. I was gifted with flight, could travel into the depths of the Sea, run deep into the Forests, during day and night as these ‘realities’ shifted almost simultaneously, instantly and at will. If my mind perceived it quickly manifested. I was in my body for some and out of body for others. It was an unexpected occurrence, I had not planned on having, yet when the opportunity presented itself, I acted with what felt like full mastery, simplicity and familiarity. Once I truly saw myself as being apart from my physical body, I had the freedom to explore and have greater control of those dimensions. It was as if I was between  sheaths of very light, very subtle energies. I felt completely awake not fully sleeping. In this ‘dream state’ it didn’t feel like an ordinary deep dream state but lighter, more freeing. I felt fully alive! (please note, I have NEVER used drugs or hallucinogens to induce any of these altered states. I have always been able to do them freely and at will through meditation, breathing, chanting, and of course like those of my ‘distant’ Indigenous Ancestors, dancing and drumming.)

spiritual-awakening (1)Recently though, I’ve been concerned with my own level of spirituality. As a child, I was deeply aware and alive in my spiritual development way beyond my earth years. I meditated, had shamanic journeys, listened to Nature, retained memories of past lives, and was developing my psychic gifts beyond my immediate family line who were 1. bereft with Christian-based dogma and fear of Nature and personal power, 2. believed in the greatest lie, that shamanic psychic gifts were something to keep silent and undeveloped in our so called modern culture.

Throughout the years, I’ve realized that these gifts are a just that, gifts,  rather than a burden I could not truly understand back then. Lately though, I’ve been concerned  how the effects of GMOs flooding our American food industry has effected our pineal and pituitary glands and thus made our natural hormonal balances and access to higher realms purposefully ‘silenced’. Like those organic seed and sustainable farmers’ Monsanto has bullied into submission. And the sacred, divine bees practically brought to extinction in the process of our mass ignorance from the truth. Ahh but let me get back to these altered states of consciousness, I was ecstatic that my mind, soul and spirit worked in perfect harmony to allow such union with the higher realms. And it seems that exercise for me plays just as a valuable part of this inner outer uni-ty.

Besides my focusing on my spirituality could exercise have helped to induce these altered states of consciousness? True, I affirmed over a few nights to ‘consciously’ dream, to remember my dreams, to be protected and spiritually guided in my dreams, for my bodies to be protected in different realms and planes, to keep my mind and memory intact, to be placed in higher vibrations, to know my spirit animal, to be at peace and harmony in all phases of my life. Each night I affirmed these many desires, commandments and affirmations and spoke ‘love’ into my heart and body. But it wasn’t until I had a day full of yoga, meditation and exercise that I was set into full motion. So I wonder just how powerful and effect these seemingly ‘physical tools’ are to our spiritual development and consciousness.

Just what is Lucid Dreaming?

We often hear about the Astral plane, Astral projection, Astral Travel, but just what is the Astral phenomena really mean? Astral projection or astral travel is an out of body experience or OBE. Which is traveling outside of the physical body and ordinary reality.96925_orig

The Astral Body is just one of the bodies encasing or surrounding the soul of a being (human being), the others are the Physical Body, Etheric body, Astral (Emotional Body), Mental Body, and Causal Body. Each subtle body representing a different realm or plane of existence.

Lucid Dreaming is the phenomena of being aware of your dream and exercising complete control of that dream state. Thus in a state f lucid dreaming you have:

  1. Awareness of the dream state (orientation);
  2. Awareness of the capacity to make decisions;
  3. Awareness of memory functions;
  4. Awareness of self;
  5. Awareness of the dream environment;
  6. Awareness of the meaning of the dream;
  7. Awareness of concentration and focus (the subjective clarity of that state). (source: Wikipedia)

Lucid dreaming has been linked to Astral travel or astral projection as a precursor. A W.I.L.D. is a ‘wake initiated lucid dream’ where a dreamer goes directly from a waking state to dream state where as a D.I.L.D. (dream initiated lucid dream) one begins in a dream state then lucid dream state.

Poems and transmissions

Vision-Tree-by-Alex-GreyThis poem like many events lately have been highly synchronistic. Dates, numbers, “time,” events in dreams and in the outer ‘dream’ world seem to play into one huge movie, one event touching upon the next. I smile, take note, remember details, from past dreams, the messages, that were provided to me – ha! to ‘we’ Only lets me know I to be fully awake when I get these special forms of communication so that I am ‘sharing’ with others as I should. This ‘poem’ or transmission as the author defines is such a message and truly makes one ponder! Do you feel in snyc? In natural rhythm? Can you feel the energy and changes happening right now?

Ascension Blue Chronicles

Poem excerpt by Raphiem – (read this in its entirety here)

Dream = Creation = Light / (Time x Space)

The act and intention of dreaming creates space-time
For space-time is the canvas upon which dreams are painted
No ascension finds us where descension has left us
And no space contains us where time has touched us

Dreaming is at the core and center of your being
It is a necessary must as is oxygen to your temples
If dreaming is non-existent then so are you
And your temple-body’s are just empty shells
Taken over and occupied by mindless hives

Genetically modified, intoxicated, polluted, poisoned
Digitized with a disarray of total harmonic distortion (THD)
Through your light, sound and electro-magnetic spectrum
X-Ray, Microwave, WIFI, Cell-Phone, TV, Film and Radio
They have calcified and shut down your glands (chakras)
Your dreaming pineal gland is barely functioning

You are kept distracted with fear and vile images
You are kept entertained by external gratification
You are kept busy ever stressed seeking survival
All with one agenda: TO STOP YOU FROM DREAMING

It all started as a dream and shall end as a dream
In your sleep you shall awaken and when you awaken you shall dream
And in that dream you will hear the unheard and see the unseen
And all that was forgotten shall be remembered

Some of these concepts are harder to understand intellectually than others, which means in order to understand them, we must move beyond logic into the realm of spirit. (

How to Open Your 3rd Eye

Perhaps there is no one-size-fits-all on how to to open your 3rd eye, be more spiritual, and live a more meaning-filled abundant life. There are many ways in the process of becoming ‘natrual’ organic and authentic. Awareness is key to real survival and mastery. The Natural Self is one of living beyond lower level dimensions, dogma, and paradigms that oppose sustainability and life. From the growth of natural hair to organic gardens that feed and sustain a community – there is no separation or difference.

Personal Note: I haven’t tried Teal Swan’s tutorial (below), but thought it may be helpful for some. For foods that are more spiritual in nature which are more alkaline than acidic, I highly recommend:

  • Avocados
  • Green Leafy Veggies
  • Cilantro
  • Basil
  • Organic and Certified Fruits and Berries
  • Coconut
  • Almonds
  • Sea Veggies
  • Watercress – (high in Vitamin C, E, K)
  • Walnuts
  • Organic Raw Honey
  • Clean Water
  • SunLight!

  • Other forms of ‘food’
  • Meditation
  • Yoga and Exercise!
  • Happiness and Forgiveness
  • Affirmations of Light, Love and Cooperative Harmony
  • and Sacred Creative Healing Sex!

For mantras I simply use the sacred OM (AUM) the most basic of Earth’s frequencies before sleeping or aligning my energies.

Hope you find these helpful!
